If you are an experienced rider looking to upgrade your skills to teaching standards, the RYA PWC Instructor Course is for you. This course will teach you high quality instructing techniques that will allow you to teach the RYA PWC Proficiency Course and the RYA PWC Safety Course for guests using jetskis and other water craft on superyachts.

Do I need previous experience?
Yes, this course is suitable for students with a minimum of 2 years’ experience of driving personal watercraft. Students must also hold the RYA PWC Proficiency Course certificate prior to embarking on this course. The RYA PWC Instructor Course is a revised version of the PWC Proficiency Course adapted for teaching, so knowledge of this syllabus is vital.
The RYA PWC Instructor Course is a three-day training opportunity where you will be taught the skills to safety lead riders through the PWC Proficiency Course. Students over the age of 16 can take part, and our experienced instructors are dedicated to ensuring that each student receives the resources to allow them to give in-depth safety and handling guidance to inexperienced riders.
Students must also hold a valid and in-date First Aid certificate, and a VHF Radio qualification.

What will I learn?
The RYA PWC Instructor Course is a revised version of the PWC Proficiency Course adapted for teaching. The course content is a great practical introduction to teaching, focusing on demonstrating how to instruct and debrief students, with an emphasis on safety and handling. The RYA PWC Instructor Course syllabus provides a comprehensive knowledge of teaching jetski handling and safety, and includes:

- Riding and handling at low speed
- Riding and handling at high speed
- General manoeuvres

Course Costs
The RYA PWC Instructor Course cost is £425 per person. This course will be taught in a group, with a maximum group size of 6 students on 3 jetskis. For the duration of the course, you will have the opportunity to work on a 1-2-1 basis with an instructor both on the water and in the classroom to consolidate your teaching skills.
